Art and Illustration
I have exhibited my wildlife and botanical paintings in Africa, the UK and USA, and am a member of The Wildlife Art Society International.
Growing up with wild animals has given me an understanding of them that enables me, I hope, to capture the essence of each animal in my work. As a keen gardener, I've always loved plants as well, and since training as a herbalist I have really come to appreciate them. The ancient woods behind my house, an SSSI designated nature reserve, are a source of inspiration. We often see a barn owl or a herd of red deer in the meadow, and there are always lots of birds around as well as a wealth of plantlife.
I mainly work on paper with watercolour, acrylic and ink. I also make silk screen and woodblock prints. My illustration work includes the books When Elephant Was King and Vegetarian Masterpieces, travel brochures, t-shirts, logos and greeting cards.
